General Chiropractic Council (GCC)
The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) regulates chiropractors in the UK to ensure the safety of patients undergoing chiropractic treatment.
The GCC is an independent statutory body established by Parliament to regulate the chiropractic profession. We protect the health and safety of the public by ensuring high standards of practice in the chiropractic profession.
The title of 'chiropractor' is protected by law and it is a criminal offence for anyone to describe themselves as a chiropractor without being registered with the GCC. We check that all chiropractors are properly qualified and are fit to practise.
British Chiropractic Association(BCA)
The British Chiropractic Association has been at the forefront of supporting and developing the profession for nearly 95 years. We have used our experience to develop a comprehensive range of membership benefits and services that provide protection, savings, policy development and learning opportunities to support you throughout your career.
As the largest representative body for chiropractors in the UK, our members make up a vibrant and progressive community, supported by our expertise of the chiropractic profession and the wider healthcare environment.
The BCA was a founder member of the European Chiropractors Union and the World Federation of Chiropractic. All BCA members are covered by a high quality professional indemnity insurance and the Association operates a robust professional standards and complaints management process.
