HCUK - Headache Clinics UK
The first patients referred via Headache Clinics UK are starting to arrive at the Heelands and New Cross Centres, with research data collection underway on the results. There have been no negative results so far at these clinics.
Many patients who attend initially with back or neck problems also have regular headaches. In nearly all cases the headaches have improved or been totally resolved. In a few cases orthodontic referral has assisted.
At Gentle Family Chiropractic, because the treatment is often so gentle many very sensitive patients attend and can tolerate the treatments with ease.
Nearly all patients who have come in with headache problems as part of their presentation have been found to be in need of craniopathy as part of their treatment, based on the protocols used at this clinic. Again, we are in the process of collecting research data.
Rosie Kitchiner has been using craniopathy for a number of years as part of the gentle whole body treatment methods used at the clinic.
FALL PREVENTION
The AGS/BGS, American/British Geriatric Society, has come out with new recommendations for prevention of falls in older persons.
Details of falls should be obtained in detail and walking and balance assessed.
Physical assessment should include, neurological function, muscle strength tests, circulation and vision as well as foot and footwear checks. Also the home environment should be checked.
Medication (for balance) should be minimised or withdrawn, and tailored exercise programs given. Supplements are likely to involve high dose Vitamin D.
All of the above can be checked and intervention provided at Gentle Family Chiropratic. We are very happy to work alongside of your other doctors and therapists.
